Background & Problem
Checking Apple Health and not knowing where to start.
Imagine you go in looking for clarity, but instead find dense information, complex metrics, and an experience that can feel overwhelming to navigate.
Apple Health is powerful, but when health data is hard to scan and interpret, people are less likely to engage with it. This redesign makes health insights easier to find, understand, and act on.

Research
How do people use Apple Health?
People use Apple Health to track basics like steps, sleep, heart rate, and medications. Some let it run in the background, while others connect apps like MyFitnessPal or Strava for a fuller picture.

Solution
Health Insights, Simplified
We bring together essential health insights into easy-to-read widgets, helping users quickly understand what matters most. The Health Highlights widget surfaces key trends and changes across health metrics, while Breathing Disturbances provides focused visibility into nighttime breathing patterns. Together, these widgets transform complex health data into meaningful signals users can easily understand and act on.
How To Keep Users Engaged?
Adding more customizable widgets for high-frequency tasks helps reduce the effort required to record daily data such as water intake, medication logs, and reminders. By surfacing these useful features directly on the main screen, users can quickly take action without feeling overwhelmed.

Health Highlights

Water Intake
Know Your Cycle
This cycle tracking widget visually displays where users are in their cycle, making it easy to understand patterns at a glance. Friendly reminders notify users when their cycle is approaching or arrives, helping them stay prepared and informed without stress.
Quick Water Intake and Medicine Reminder Widget
We designed lightweight widgets that allow users to quickly log their daily water intake with just one tap, reducing friction and making healthy habits easier to maintain. A dedicated medicine widget enables users to record medication intake throughout the day while providing friendly, timely reminders to help prevent missed doses. Together, these widgets support consistency by fitting naturally into users’ daily routines instead of demanding extra effort.

Impact In The Future
Reduced Cognitive Load
Surfacing key insights through simplified widgets minimized the need for users to navigate complex dashboards. By prioritizing what matters most, the design reduced information overload and decision fatigue. Users could quickly grasp their health status without feeling overwhelmed.
Improved Daily Engagement
By reducing friction through quick-access widgets, users were able to log health data more consistently throughout the day. Common actions such as recording water intake or medication required fewer steps, making healthy behaviors easier to maintain. This shift helped transform tracking from a chore into a lightweight daily habit.
